Monti The Artist is the fearless personification of expression who seeks to touch lives and inspire positive change through the gift of music. Monti is a multifaceted artist, songwriter, producer, and philanthropist/human rights advocate. Based in Los Angeles, Monti The Artist is the brainchild of award-winning singer-songwriter Lauren Silva. Although the enigmatic artist is not confined to one genre, Monti’s musical and writing style draws from her roots and inspirations in R&B, Soul, Jazz, Blues, and Pop. Her music is empowering as she draws from her personal experiences. She has overcome adversity all her life and she hopes that by telling her story she can remind someone listening that they are not alone.
Born into an abusive and broken home filled with drugs and alcoholism, Monti was a runaway who dodged foster care systems, living off and on the streets, escaping a life of gangs, mental hospitals, group homes and drug and alcohol abuse. Her turbulent past is brilliantly conveyed in her debut EP, entitled "This Is For You,” featured on Huffington Post and Celeb Mix; a stunning moody synth and electro pop five song release produced and co-written by Josh Stevens (LMFAO, Calvin Harris, The Game).
Lauren Silva aka “Monti the Artist” has built a career in entertainment since the tender age of 4. She landed her first record deal as a teenager and has toured internationally sharing the stages with major artists and acts such as The Wu Tang Clan, P.O.D., L.F.O, Kirk Franklin, and Marcia Ball. Her numerous roles in music as a solo artist, songwriter, and producer can be found on original & collaboration music projects with Sony and Universal, as well as major artists and musicians including top 10 American Idol finalists.
Monti’s original music has landed her a Hollywood music in media award, radio play on major platforms and features on major cable TV & streaming networks including Amazon Prime Lizzo’s reality show “Watch Out for the Big Girls,” which garnered her 3 Emmy’s and a Critics People’s Choice Award. She has also received numerous Hollywood Music In Media Award (HMMA) nominations for her original music on her solo artist projects that include, Best Pop Song of the Year and a win for Best R&B/Soul Song of the Year.
Monti also makes an appearance singing alongside Carrie Underwood in the major motion picture “Soul Surfer.”
Her work in philanthropy is centered around advocating for Human rights. She is the founder of Hope Generations, an initiative that focuses on using her music and story to instill hope and inspire generations in a way that will have a real social impact. In addition, she serves on the Board for C.Y.C (California Youth Connections), a foster youth-led organization working to change the foster care system through legislation. Lauren supports many organizations and advocates for foster youth, homeless youth, human trafficking survivors, veterans, and human rights.
As a performer and vocalist, her style is charismatic and heartfelt. Her smooth vocals are decorated by effortless intonations that are accentuated by a skillfully resonated voice and soothing warm tones.
